Du Nord x The Concrete Waxed Denim Journey Jacket
-
a versatile workwear jacket inspired by the wardrobe of Jackson Pollock.
Worker jackets, or painter jackets, have been around for decades. Images of famous artists such as Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock often portray them wearing a comfortable, functional and stylish workwear jacket with clearly visible signs of wear. Inspired by a documentary on Jackson Pollock, filmed in the 1970s, Jeroen (the owner/founder of Store Du Nord) decided to design a modern version of the classic worker jacket. One which would suit modern styles without losing its function or durability. Taking key elements from the originals and blending them with a touch of Japanese finesse (the button+loop closing inspired by Haori jackets), and sourcing a waxed denim fabric from specialists Halley Stevens in Scotland, resulted in a jacket intended to be work and live in. The journey jacket, a true companion on your creative journey in life.
